About The Position

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring a Patient Dining Associate. As a Patient Dining Associate, YOU make a big difference in a patient's stay in the hospital! This is a full-time position with rotating shifts, as the cafeteria is open from 5:30 am to 7:30 pm, and the shifts are 12 hours long. Patient Dining Associates are responsible for patient meal service food on assigned units. They communicate patient food issues, concerns, and needs to Food & Nutrition Services, and interact with Nursing regarding patient nutrition needs or requirements. The role also involves assisting the dietitian with monitoring patients on NPO, clear liquid, and full liquid diets, and recording food intake for patients on intake analysis. The associate must react accurately and effectively to all changes to ensure efficient timing of services and accuracy of physician's ordered modified diets. Familiarity with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets is crucial to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction. The Patient Dining Associate is responsible for patient satisfaction on assigned units.

Requirements

  • Customer Service experience required
  • HS - High School Grad or Equivalent - Experience in lieu of degree/diploma will be accepted.
