Patient Dining Associate
About The Position
Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is hiring a Full-time, Rotating Shift, Patient Dining Associate. This role is responsible for patient meal service food on assigned units. The associate will communicate patient food issues/concerns and needs to Food & Nutrition Services, and interact with Nursing regarding patient nutrition needs or requirements. This position will assist the dietitian with monitoring of patients on NPO, clear liquid and full liquid diets and records food intake for patients on intake analysis. The associate must react accurately and effectively to all changes to ensure efficient timing of services and accuracy of physician's ordered modified diets. Familiarity with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets is crucial to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction. The Patient Dining Associate is responsible for patient satisfaction on assigned units.
Requirements
- Certified Food Service Handler's Card (as required by local Health Department).
- Experience in Lieu of degree/diploma will be accepted.
Nice To Haves
- Previous Customer Service Experience (Preferred)
- High School Grad or Equivalent (Preferred)
