Patient Dining Associate
About The Position
Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is hiring a Full-time, Rotating Shift, Patient Dining Associate. This role involves working full-time, 12-hour shifts, and rotating weekends. The associate will be responsible for patient meal service food on assigned units, communicating patient food issues/concerns and needs to Food & Nutrition Services, and interacting with Nursing regarding patient nutrition needs or requirements. The role also includes assisting dietitians with monitoring patients on NPO, clear liquid, and full liquid diets, and recording food intake for patients on intake analysis. The associate must react accurately and effectively to all changes to ensure efficient timing of services and accuracy of physician's ordered modified diets. Familiarity with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets is crucial for optimal patient care and satisfaction. The position is also responsible for patient satisfaction on assigned units.
Requirements
- Certified Food Service Handler's Card (as required by local Health Department).
- Experience in Lieu of degree/diploma will be accepted.
