The Patient Dining Assistant (PDA) is responsible for managing patient meal orders using the My Dining meal ordering system. This involves interacting with patients, caregivers, and family members to take diet-specific food choices for each meal, ensuring accuracy and adherence to physician-prescribed diets. The PDA will reaffirm food requests, enter them into an iPad, print meal tickets, and organize them for the tray line. Responsibilities also include building, delivering, scanning, and removing patient trays at posted times. The role requires acting as a patient advocate, addressing concerns, making independent decisions within the scope of care, and ensuring a positive resolution. The PDA must use two patient identifiers to confirm identity and scan tray tickets before serving meals, acting as a liaison between patients, Nutritional Services, nursing, and other departments to foster a positive service culture. This role demands independent thinking, multi-tasking, prioritization, stringent time management, and strong communication skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Direct patient service is a primary focus, impacting patient satisfaction scores.
