The Patient Coordinator position at Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers, an ECP-affiliated practice located in Louisville, KY, and Jeffersonville, IN, is a full-time role that requires regular travel between multiple office locations. This role is the first point of contact for patients, responsible for setting a positive tone through excellent patient care and performing administrative duties to ensure a smooth check-in/out experience. Key responsibilities include providing exceptional customer service, managing patient flow, verifying insurances, handling inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, collecting payments, and performing daily office reconciliations and general cleaning tasks.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Favorable result on Background Check
Basic computer skills
Strong customer service skills
Excitement to learn and grow
Ability to interact with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner at all times
Desire to gain industry knowledge and training
Demonstrates initiative in accomplishing practice goals
Ability to grow, adapt, and accept change
Consistently creating a positive work environment by being team-oriented and patient-focused
Commitment to work over 40 hours to meet the needs of the business
Reliable transportation that would allow employee to go to multiple work locations with minimal notice
One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

Responsibilities

Facilitate patient flow
Verify medical and vision insurances
Effectively communicate with patients, doctors, and managers
Answer inquiries through phone, email, and in person requests
Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone)
Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave
Answer phones (both external and internal); assure prompt, courteous service at all times
Practice urgency at all times with patients’ time, as well as Doctor’s time and schedule
Manage patient flow in the office
Knowledge of common fees charged for common visits and collect correct payments
Complete daily reconciliations / close day / countdown cash drawer
General office duties and cleaning to be assigned by manager
