About The Position

Sunnybrook Dental is seeking a part-time Patient Coordinator to join their team, working 3 days a week for 24 hours (7:30 am - 5:30 pm). The Patient Coordinator will support the mission of providing excellent dental care, creating smiles, and memorable experiences within a team-oriented and compassionate environment. The role involves community outreach, participating in local events, promoting a positive image, and engaging in morning huddles. A significant portion of the patient base (70% or more) consists of children, so a love for working with kids is essential.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a senior high school or GED equivalent.
  • Office experience in a dentist's or physician's office (preferred).
  • Experience with children's dentistry (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality customer service to patients and parents at check-in and check-out.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and service limits.
  • Deliver quality and compassionate care to every patient.
  • Greet parents and patients upon arrival and departure.
  • Keep waiting parents informed about appointment progress.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy waiting area and front desk.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility prior to appointments and update patient records in Boomerang.
  • Record and communicate service limits to the clinical team before patient treatment.
  • Prepare patient files before appointments, including pulling files, updating records, and verifying insurance/service limits.
  • Coordinate with the Clinical Team Leader and Doctors to facilitate same-day care.
  • Assist in meeting office financial targets by ensuring full hygiene and operative schedules.
  • Schedule follow-up operatory and six-month recall appointments.
  • Answer incoming calls, direct callers, and take messages.
  • Make outbound calls to confirm appointments, reschedule no-shows, and follow up on outstanding treatment.
  • Re-file all patient records at the end of the day.
  • Adhere to all government regulations, company standards, and compliance programs.
  • Verify, inform, and collect out-of-pocket balances from patients before treatment.
  • Participate in local events, school screenings, and presentations to promote the company.
  • Participate in morning huddles and acknowledge peers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
