Patient Care Technician (PCT) – Full-time, Days
About The Position
Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Patient Care Technicians provide compassionate care to patients throughout this recovery process. This full-time position is located in Fort Myers, Florida, and is listed as 12-hour day shifts in the title; the overview separately describes the schedule as 12-hour night shifts, with shift differentials for nights and weekends. Compensation is $17.50–$21.33 per hour, plus applicable shift differentials.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
- BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.
- Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, nursing assistant certification, or experience in a related field such as medical assisting.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient services including bathing with basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
- Participate in hourly rounds.
- Transport patients to and from treatment centers as needed, and assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
- Clean and maintain instruments and equipment, including bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
- Keep patient rooms clean and orderly.
- Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
