About The Position

HonorHealth is a nonprofit healthcare system in the greater Phoenix area, founded in 1927. They are looking for a Patient Care Technician for their Medical Surgical Unit. This role involves providing direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed caregiver, assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and documenting patient information. The position is full-time, day shift, with self-scheduling options and required weekend and holiday rotations. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Completion of Block 1 in Nursing OR Medical Assistant (MA) OR Nursing Assistant (NA) OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) OR 6 months of experience in the healthcare setting within the last year Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Required

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months in acute care experience.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Certification Preferred
  • Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT) - License Emergency Medical Tech Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides patient related care tasks based on the principles of growth and development across the life span of patients served in his/her independent unit.
  • Assists, observes, and reports patient changes to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation relative to the care delivered.
  • Provides and collaborates direct patient care services under the direct supervisor of a licensed caregiver. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, interventions, and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan as directed under supervisor of nurse.
  • Assists, observes and reports changes in patient condition to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation in relation to the care delivered.
  • Addresses and/or directs questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or health care team members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
