About The Position

DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician who is looking to make an exceptional difference in the lives of our patients and their families dealing with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease. No Dialysis experience is required - we spend the first 9-12 weeks in paid training!! Training may take place in a facility or a training clinic other than your assigned home clinic. Potential to float to various clinics. You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays - shift times can start as early as 4:00 AM. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be comfortable working around blood and needles and mixing acid or bicarb
  • Must be comfortable working 8-12 hour shifts, 3-4 days per week, flexible in schedule

Nice To Haves

  • Health care experience a plus including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.

Responsibilities

  • Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment.
  • Educate patient on kidney disease.
  • Monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup.
  • Work on a cross functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers and leadership.
  • PCTs work under the supervision of a RN.
