The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides direct, age-specific care to patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) under the direction of leadership, RN, or licensed independent practitioner. This role involves monitoring patient conditions, providing updates to the healthcare team, and ensuring patient comfort, hygiene, and safety. The PCT will also maintain a safe and clean environment, manage supplies, and contribute to a positive patient experience by adhering to safety goals and accurately identifying patients. Responsibilities include reporting patient responses, obtaining and recording patient information, and collecting specimens. The PCT must attend all mandatory in-services and training, ensure patient safety, and demonstrate ASPIRE Values and teamwork. Recognizing time-sensitive issues is also crucial. Additional duties may be assigned.
