Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant: AZ
- American Heart Association BLS
Nice To Haves
- High School Graduate / GED General Studies
- One year of acute or post-acute care experience
- Completion of nursing assistant program, or completion of first block of nursing program
Responsibilities
- Deliver essential direct patient care under the supervision of the clinical team.
- Assist patients with personal care, mobility, and feeding.
- Monitor vital signs.
- Document observations.
- Maintain a therapeutic and organized patient environment.
- Work closely with the nursing team to prepare patients for procedures or transport.
- Assists the nurse/physician during examinations, treatments, and procedures as requested.
- Documents clinically relevant findings in the patient's record according to hospital protocols.
- Assists with patient admission, discharge, and transfer and/or transport patients throughout the hospital as needed.
- Orients patient to room/routine, monitors and records patient vital signs, weight, positioning, ADL's, I&O's, activity, and blood glucose readings per RN instructions, hospital protocols, and standards of care.
- Obtains specimens as directed and according to hospital protocol.
- Demonstrates respect for/protection of patient rights including closing doors or curtains while providing care.
