About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) - Central BP and Staffing (Float Pool) position is a Full-Time role working Days. This role provides patient care and assistance based on the plan of care and patient/family preferences. The PCT will collect and report patient data, support admission, transfer, and discharge processes, and perform technical procedures safely while documenting care accurately. Collaboration with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations and cultural needs is essential. The PCT will maintain a clean, safe environment, proactively meet patient and visitor needs, and demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, and effective communication across disciplines. Participation in process improvement, adherence to safety goals, and advocating for patients are also key responsibilities. Requirements

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency
PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program. Not required to maintain certification when applicable after hire.
EMT - Emergency Medical Technician
Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) Upon Hire
Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program Upon Hire
1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification. Upon Hire
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days
Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
Nursing Students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.
