About The Position

Raleigh General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patient care in Emergency Services. The technician works under RN delegation and collaborates with nursing and physician staff to provide basic care, maintain safe and orderly patient areas, document care, and support department operations. The hospital describes its nursing support team as collaborative and committed to compassion, safety, and service excellence. The role is scheduled for full-time day shifts, three 12-hour shifts, with rotating weekends.

Requirements

• A high school degree is preferred.
• Hospital experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possible blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output accurately.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, and ambulation.
• Observe and promptly report abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to nursing staff.
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-stocked patient rooms and common areas.
• Manage the tech desk and support nursing and physician staff and overall department throughput.
• Document care and activities according to unit standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Participate in performance improvement and required education.
