About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) reports to the Nurse Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes. This is an employee position with MUHA (Medical University Hospital Authority/Medical Center) and is scheduled for 36 hours per week, working 3 12-hour night shifts per week, including weekends and holidays. The role is classified as Hourly under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Associate or Bachelor's degree OR at least 1 year work experience in a .6 FTE PCT I position at MUSC CHS OR 1 year of experience in a healthcare facility OR Active enrollment in nursing school with completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited institution OR Active enrollment in a healthcare related field from an accredited institution OR Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution.
Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire.
