About The Position
DaVita is seeking Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) to provide direct patient care in dialysis treatments. PCTs work under the supervision of an RN and are responsible for monitoring patients before, during, and after dialysis, including recording vital signs and observations, and setting up hemodialysis machines. This role involves building long-term relationships with patients and educating them on kidney dialysis topics. The position requires a flexible schedule, comfort with blood and needles, and the ability to work long hours on your feet. DaVita offers a comprehensive paid training program, including classroom and hands-on experience, and reimbursement for the Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) license. Requirements
- Desire to enter the health care field to care for other people in need
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be comfortable working around blood and needles
- Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb
- Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
- Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet
- Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Health care experience preferred including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
Responsibilities
- Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment.
- Monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup.
- Educate patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
- Work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
- Learn how to teach future DaVita teammates clinical procedures and policies.
