About The Position

The Patient Care Technician supports patient care under the supervision of a Nurse Leader. The role includes direct and indirect patient care activities that help maintain a safe and efficient care environment, as well as selected interventions and activities carried out in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards, policies, and procedures. Working with the care team, the technician also helps ensure a positive patient experience. This is a high-activity role involving multiple priorities and a need for scheduling flexibility. Additional responsibilities and career advancement opportunities are available through a clinical ladder based on experience, skillsets, and certifications. On-site training is provided.

Requirements

Complete the Patient Care Technician-specific Hartford HealthCare orientation.
Obtain an American Heart Association-certified BLS Provider credential within 60 days of hire or job transfer.
Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work in a high-activity environment with multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Some relevant experience in an acute care hospital environment.
Current American Heart Association-certified BLS Provider credential.
Certification as a CNA, CPCT/A, EMT, or CMA for eligibility to advance in the PCT clinical ladder.
