About The Position

The Certified Patient Care Technician works on basic care for adult and geriatric patients' needs including comfort, hygiene, safety, and environmental cleanliness under the supervision of professional and practical nursing staff. They complete documentation of patient-related tasks and perform all functions delegated by the nurse staff, adhering to policies, procedures, and scope of practice. Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Basic Life Support/CPR Certified
Nursing Assistant

Nice To Haves

1 year in a related clinical area
Completion of a nursing assistant program or equivalent
Cert Non-Violent Crisis Intervention

Responsibilities

Assists the nurse in collecting data for patient assessments, including vital signs, weights, blood glucose monitoring, and intake/output.
Assists with patient hygiene, nutrition, and personal care needs.
Completes documentation of patient-related tasks.
Ensures patient safety by maintaining a safe environment under the direction of the nurse.
Communicates effectively about patient care and needs while on duty.
Supports teamwork of the unit in meeting patient needs.
Utilizes AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You) when interacting with a patient or family.
Maintains a clean environment in patient care areas.
Completes patient rounding in accordance with patient assignments and schedule to drive patient satisfaction and safety.
Seeks knowledge and opportunities for career development and in support of unit/department growth.
Accepts direction from the supervisor and LPN/RN to perform other duties as assigned.
Participates in LCMC's community events.
