Patient Care Technician - Ortho/Neuro/Peds
About The Position
The Patient Care Technician works on the Ortho/Neuro/Peds Unit, a 30-bed medical, surgical, and pediatric specialty unit. The unit participates in the Center for Joint Reconstruction and Replacement Program and is a Primary Stroke Center. Its six-bed pediatric population is predominantly medical, including patients with respiratory illnesses, and is treated by pediatric-trained nurses. Pediatric experience is not required for nursing positions in the unit. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Technician performs a variety of clinical and environmental tasks and demonstrates the ability to care for patients of all ages in the clinical setting. The unit reports high RN retention, an excellent nursing skill mix, and customized new-employee orientation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- CPR certification required.
- Previous experience preferred.
Nice To Haves
- CNA certification preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish abilities highly desirable.
Responsibilities
