About The Position
DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide hands-on dialysis care in a hospital setting. This position will support Geisinger Medical Center. No dialysis experience is required, as DaVita provides paid training and opportunities for career growth in healthcare. The role involves delivering one-on-one dialysis care to patients with kidney disease, monitoring vital signs, setting up dialysis machines, observing treatments, and providing physical and emotional support to patients. Additionally, the PCT will educate patients on dialysis-related topics and collaborate with other care team members, including nurses, dietitians, and social workers.
Requirements
- Accredited High School diploma, general education development (“GED”) credential, or equivalent
- Comfort working with blood, needles, and medical equipment
- Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical stamina for long shifts (up to 12+ hours)
- Flexibility to float between facilities as needed
Nice To Haves
- Previous healthcare experience a plus (CNA, MA, Phlebotomy, CHT, BONENT certified)
