About The Position

The Patient Care Technician, under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, is responsible for preparing the patient to be seen by the physician or provider. This role ensures all patients are seen in an expedient and timely manner in the examination rooms in the outpatient facility. The technician will assist with setting up and preparing patients and equipment for procedures, maintain a clean and orderly environment, and collect vital signs and document intake information. Additionally, the role involves entering patient information into the Electronic Medical Record system, reviewing patient charts, collecting urine samples, and ordering necessary supplies and equipment. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Graduate from a Patient Care Technician or a Certified Nursing Assistant program or six (6) months of direct patience experience or completion of at least one semester of clinical rotations in an accredited Nursing program which included both didactic and clinical rotations.
• Must have excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Physician office experience.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all patients are seen in an expedient and timely manner in the examination rooms in the outpatient facility.
• Assist with the setting up and preparation of patient and equipment for procedures.
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment in the area, clean area after patient exams and procedures.
• Check patient vitals and document all intake information.
• Enter patient information in the Electronic Medical Record system.
• Review patient chart, make sure necessary paper work is available for the physician and for the patients.
• Collect urine samples.
• Order supplies and equipment for patient procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
