About The Position
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a supportive member of the patient care team who assists with routine and non-complex aspects of patient care. The PCT assists registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and physicians in the patient care process and may be assigned additional duties within the scope of the role. The position is based at Baptist Medical Center East and is listed as regular full-time, third shift.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- BLS certification is required.
- Knowledge of body mechanics, basic safety, and principles of physical care and comfort.
- Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of a certified Nursing Assistant Program or Health Occupations Program (HOSA).
- Completion of the first clinical rotation as a nursing student, including a Nursing Fundamentals course covering assistance with activities of daily living and vital signs, or one year of experience in a patient care role in an acute care, nursing home, or home care setting.
- Medical terminology training.
Responsibilities

- Support RNs, LPNs, and physicians in the patient care process.
- Perform additional duties assigned within the scope of the role.
