About The Position

The Patient Care Technician works on the 5 Tower Cardiovascular and Transplant unit for 0.6 days. The role performs direct patient care procedures, supports patient testing and treatment, and assists physicians and professional staff with equipment and supplies. The technician also helps patients ambulate using assistive devices, documents care, communicates effectively with patients and families, and maintains confidentiality while using time and resources effectively.

Requirements

• Valid IDPH CNA Certification.
• CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of direct patient care procedures.
• Assists with completion of patient testing and treatment procedures.
• Assists physicians and professional staff with equipment, supplies, and setup.
• Assists patients with ambulation using assistive devices.
• Completes required documentation and communicates competently and effectively to meet patient and family needs and regulatory requirements.
• Maintains strict confidentiality of patient, employee, and department information to protect patient rights.
• Uses time and resources effectively to promote quality and cost outcomes.
