About The Position
The Patient Care Tech assists the professional nursing staff with the daily care of patients assigned to the Med/Surg Unit. This role involves a variety of patient care duties, charting in the patient's medical record, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. The Patient Care Tech is expected to follow instructions from physicians or licensed nurses, maintain current knowledge and skills through educational resources, and participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team to support the hospital's mission, motto, vision, and values.
Requirements
- 30 hours per week
- BLS/CPR Certification
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred
- Previous PCT Experience Preferred
Responsibilities
- Assists the professional nursing staff with the daily care of patients assigned to the Med/Surg Unit
- Bathing, feeding, passing trays, making beds, assisting with ambulation, I&O, daily weights, vital signs
- Charting in the patient’s medical record care provided
- Assisting and serving patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort
- Follow the instructions issued by the Physician or licensed nurse according to established policies and procedures
- Seeks educational resources to maintain current knowledge and skills for his/her continuing competency
- Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team working to attain the mission, motto, vision, and values of Adams Memorial Hospital
