About The Position

Loyola Medicine is seeking a full-time Patient Care Technician for the 6SW Medical Oncology unit. The role works 12-hour night shifts and performs a variety of direct patient care procedures, assists with patient testing and treatment, and supports physicians and professional staff with equipment and supplies. The technician also assists patients with ambulation, completes required documentation, communicates effectively with patients and families, protects confidential information, and uses time and resources effectively to support quality and cost outcomes.

Requirements

• Valid IDPH CNA Certification.
• CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of direct patient care procedures.
• Assist with completion of patient testing and treatment procedures.
• Assist physicians and professional staff with equipment supply and setup.
• Assist patients with ambulation using assistive devices.
• Complete required documentation and communicate competently and effectively to meet patient and family needs and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, employee, and department information to protect patient rights.
• Use time and resources effectively to promote quality and cost outcomes.
