About The Position

DaVita is looking for a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join their team. This role offers an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease by delivering care in an outpatient dialysis center. The position provides a jump start to a career in healthcare with paid, extensive training. Upon completion of training, PCTs work with a team of care professionals, including nurses, dietitians, and social workers, to care for patients. It is described as a career based on passion and purpose, not just a job.

Requirements

• Desire to enter the health care field to care for other people in need
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be comfortable working around blood and needles
• Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb
• Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet
• Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
• Flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Nice To Haves

• Health care experience a plus including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.

Responsibilities

• Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment.
• Care for multiple patients.
• Monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup.
• Build long-term relationships with patients.
• Educate patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
• Work under the supervision of a RN.
• Cross functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers and leadership.
