Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • No experience required
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS Certification required. For Non-Certified team members hired prior to May 11, 2026, certification is not required, as relevant experience will be accepted in its place.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Emergency Medical Technician in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Military Corpsmen/Medic (Combat Medic Specialist /Tactical Combat Casualty Care /Tactical Paramedic) NREMT certification or Tactical Responder Certification
  • LPN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Graduate of a certified nursing program
  • Currently enrolled student nurses who have successfully completed the Clinical Experience and Didactic

Nice To Haves

  • Patient Care Technician Certification, preferred National Center of Competency Testing

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and support patients throughout their clinic visit.
  • Assist with patient intake activities, including obtaining and documenting vital signs and other clinical information.
  • Prepare patients and exam rooms for visits and procedures.
  • Support providers and nursing staff with clinical and operational tasks.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Assist with specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and other patient care activities as appropriate.
  • Monitor and stock clinical supplies, equipment, and treatment areas.
  • Reinforce patient safety, infection prevention, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow and an exceptional care experience.
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered support while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
