About The Position

The Pediatric Specialty Clinic is looking for a patient care technician to join the team and support our Sleep and Neurology Clinics. Our Sleep department cares for patients with insomnia, narcolepsy, sleep apnea and other sleep concerns. Our Neurology department cares for patients with seizure disorders, headaches, developmental delays and other neurological concerns. In addition to obtaining vitals and reviewing medical information for each of these departments, our nursing staff will assist with arranging EEGs, sleeps studies and facilitate data collection via the use of a sleep watch. Our nursing staff ensure that the patient’s needs are met and concerns that may affect their quality of life are appropriately addressed. The PCT will obtain vitals, height and weight and other necessary information to prepare the patient for their visit. Position will require Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm availability with no weekends or holidays. The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs basic patient care services and supports activities within ambulatory services. Patient Care Technicians are multi-skilled to provide expanded services under the direct supervision of a licensed clinical professional.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of six months’ experience preferred.
  • Experience in a clinic setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies preferred.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
  • If working in North Dakota (ND) and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be registered as a Nursing Assistant (NA) through the North Dakota Department of Health within four months from the date of initial employment.
