Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • 1 (one) year acute or post-acute care experience
  • Completion of nursing assistant program, EMT program, or completion of first block of nursing program
  • Certified Nursing Assistant: AZ
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support

Responsibilities

  • Deliver essential direct patient care under the supervision of our clinical team.
  • Perform a range of daily duties leveraging knowledge of basic patient care principles and medical terminology.
  • Actively assist patients with personal care, mobility, and feeding.
  • Monitor vital signs.
  • Document observations.
  • Maintain a therapeutic and organized patient environment.
  • Work closely with the nursing team to prepare patients for procedures or transport.
  • Assists the nurse/physician during examinations, treatments and procedures as requested.
  • Documents clinically relevant findings in the patient's record according to hospital protocols.
  • Assists with patient admission, discharge, and transfer and/or transport patients throughout the hospital as needed.
  • Orients patients to room/routine.
  • Monitors and records patient vital signs, weight, positioning, ADL's, I&O, activity and blood glucose readings per RN instructions, hospital protocols, and standards of care.
  • Obtains specimens as directed and according to hospital protocol.
  • Demonstrates respect for/protection of patient rights including closing doors or curtain while providing care.
