Patient Care Technician
About The Position
DaVita is looking for an experienced Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join their team. This role involves providing life-giving care in an outpatient dialysis center, making a significant difference in the lives of patients and their families dealing with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease. The position requires an empathetic and compassionate approach to patient care. Requirements
- Dialysis experience is required.
- Must have CCHT Certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be comfortable working around blood and needles.
- Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb.
- Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet.
- Desire to enter the health care field to care for other people in need.
Nice To Haves
- Health care experience a plus including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct one-on-one patient care to ensure safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment.
- Care for multiple patients.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment.
- Measure and record patient stats.
- Observe patients.
- Perform hemodialysis machine setup.
- Build long-term relationships with patients receiving treatment three times a week.
- Educate patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
- Work under the supervision of an RN.
- Train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
