About The Position
This is a part-time (24 hours/week) Patient Care Technician position on the Evenings shift at Evanston Hospital. The role involves working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver direct patient care, assist with various patient needs, and contribute to the overall functioning and positive patient experience of the care unit. The position is part of Endeavor Health, an integrated healthcare delivery system serving over 4.2 million residents across six northeast Illinois counties, with a mission to provide quality, community-connected care.
Requirements
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by either American Heart Association required.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training course preferred
- Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical preferred
- 1 year of customer service preferred
- Prior nursing assistant experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care
- Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
- Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
- Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
- Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience
