About The Position

DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician who is looking to make an exceptional difference in the lives of our patients and their families dealing with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease. This role requires comfort in floating to various clinics in the Greater Indianapolis area and a flexible schedule to accommodate mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with shifts starting as early as 4:00 AM. The position involves direct patient care, including providing safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment, educating patients on kidney disease, and monitoring patients before, during, and after dialysis. Technicians will also be responsible for measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. You will work as part of a cross-functional team of clinicians, including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership, under the supervision of an RN. Please note you will have exposure to blood and needles.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be comfortable working around blood and needles and mixing acid or bicarb.
  • Must be comfortable working 8-12 hour shifts, 3-4 days per week, flexible in schedule.
  • Dialysis Experience required for float pool consideration.
  • Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays - shifts will start as early as 4:00AM.

Nice To Haves

  • Health care experience a plus including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.

Responsibilities

  • Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment.
  • Educate patient on kidney disease.
  • Monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup.
  • Work on a cross functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers and leadership.
  • Float to various clinics in the Greater Indianapolis area.
