Patient Care Technician - Acute Rehab - Full-time Nights
About The Position
The dual-role Patient Care Technician/Unit Secretary works under the general supervision of an RN at Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, California. The position provides clerical support to nursing staff to help facilitate patient care and delivers basic nursing care to inpatients and outpatients as needed within the assigned area. The technician collects and reports information to the supervising RN and completes patient-care-related documentation. This is a full-time position working 12-hour night shifts. Providence Mission Hospital has received Magnet designation in 2012, 2017, and 2021 and is working toward a fourth designation in 2025. Requirements
- For hires after October 31, 2016, completion of a CNA program, the first semester of a nursing program, or an EMT program.
- Upon hire, California Nursing Assistant Certification or a California Emergency Medical Technician License.
- Upon hire, National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience with basic data entry.
Nice To Haves
- Satisfactory completion of a medical terminology course or knowledge of medical terminology.
- One year of acute patient care experience, or six months of experience in a direct patient care environment providing clerical or patient support related to provider or patient documentation or charting.
