About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) works in the 2SE Neuroscience unit on a full-time, 12-hour day shift at Loyola Medicine. The role performs direct patient care procedures, supports patient testing and treatment, helps physicians and professional staff prepare equipment and supplies, and assists patients with ambulation. The PCT documents care and communicates effectively to meet patient and family needs and regulatory requirements, protects confidential information, and uses time and resources effectively to promote quality and cost outcomes.

Requirements

• Valid IDPH CNA Certification.
• CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of direct patient care procedures.
• Assist with completion of patient testing and treatment procedures.
• Assist physicians and professional staff with equipment and supply setup.
• Assist patients with ambulation using assistive devices.
• Complete required documentation and communicate competently and effectively to meet patient and family needs and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, employee, and department information to protect patient rights.
• Use time and resources effectively to promote quality and cost outcomes.
