About The Position

The Patient Care Technician performs a variety of direct patient care procedures and assists with patient testing and treatment. The role supports physicians and professional staff with equipment and supplies, helps patients ambulate using assistive devices, and completes required documentation. The technician communicates effectively to meet patient and family needs and regulatory requirements, maintains strict confidentiality, and uses time and resources effectively to promote quality and cost outcomes. This is a full-time nursing registry position on 12-hour night shifts at Loyola Medicine.

Requirements

• Valid IDPH CNA Certification.
• CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of direct patient care procedures.
• Assist with completion of patient testing and treatment procedures.
• Assist physicians and professional staff with equipment supply and setup.
• Assist patients with ambulation using assistive devices.
• Complete required documentation and communicate competently and effectively to meet patient and family needs and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, employee, and department information to protect patient rights.
• Use time and resources effectively to promote quality and cost outcomes.
