About The Position

Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is a nationally ranked academic, quaternary care system based in Chicago's western suburbs. This part-time Patient Care Technician position is on the 6SW Medical Oncology unit and works 12-hour night shifts. The technician provides direct patient care, assists with testing and treatment procedures, supports physicians and professional staff with equipment and supplies, helps patients ambulate, and completes documentation and communication to meet patient, family, and regulatory needs. The role requires maintaining confidentiality and using time and resources effectively to support quality and cost outcomes.

Requirements

• Valid IDPH CNA Certification.
• CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of direct patient care procedures.
• Assist with completion of patient testing and treatment procedures.
• Assist physicians and professional staff with equipment, supply, and set-up needs.
• Assist patients with ambulating using assistive devices.
• Complete required documentation and communicate competently and effectively to meet patient and family needs and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, employee, and department information to ensure patient rights.
• Use time and resources effectively to promote quality and cost outcomes.
