About The Position

Texas Health Resources Central Staffing Office is seeking a Seasonal Patient Care Technician for night shifts. This role is part of an internal staffing department that provides clinical staffing resources for all Texas Health Resources (THR) hospitals. The position requires flexibility to float throughout the Metroplex based on business needs and assigned zones. The department prides itself on high-performing staff with excellent critical thinking skills and offers self-scheduling to promote work-life balance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (REQUIRED)
  • 1 year experience required within the last 3 years (REQUIRED) OR No experience required if a nursing student who has completed fundamentals or military experience with medical training equivalent (REQUIRED)
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support upon hire (REQUIRED)

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to patient according to plan of care.
  • Collect patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to nurse.
  • Assist in admission/transfer/discharge.
  • Provide and Revise patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.
  • Perform technical procedures safely and proficiently.
  • Take action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
  • Enter orders into computer or manual system if applicable.
  • Document accurately and appropriately.
  • In collaboration/consultation with the nurse, adapt care to reflect patient population.
  • In collaboration/consultation with nurse, incorporate cultural/religious needs and beliefs into delivery of care.
  • Keep patient environment clean and maintains safe environment.
  • Anticipate patient/family and visitor needs and take action to meet those needs and rounds as appropriate.
