Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- CNA, CPCT, or enrollment in a healthcare career program through high school curriculum OR Age 18 or older and eligible to participate in Mercy's UAP training program
- BLS Certification within one month of hire
- Completion of required PCT competencies within three months of hire
- No experience required. For candidates without prior experience, Mercy provides a comprehensive 175-hour training program that meets state requirements and helps prepare you for success in your new role.

Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including hygiene, mobility, feeding, repositioning, and comfort needs
- Monitor and record vital signs and other patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Observe and report changes in patient conditions to the care team
- Support patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Perform specimen collection and point-of-care testing as assigned
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and team members to deliver high-quality patient care
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healing environment for patients
- Provide clerical and unit support, including answering phones and monitoring call lights when needed
- Enteral tube feeding
- Blood culture collection
- Wound care and dressing changes
- IV removal
- Burn dressing changes and debridement
- Chest tube setup
- Suture tray setup
- Visual acuity testing
- Pelvic exam setup
- Whirlpool wound care treatments
- Additional clinical skills as assigned
