About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) - Neuro PCU position is a full-time role working nights. The PCT provides patient care and assistance based on the plan of care and patient/family preferences. This includes collecting and reporting patient data, supporting admission, transfer, and discharge processes, and performing technical procedures safely while documenting care accurately. The role involves collaborating with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations and cultural needs, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and proactively meeting patient and visitor needs. PCTs are expected to demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, and effective communication across disciplines, participate in process improvement, adhere to safety goals, and advocate for patients. Texas Health Southwest and Texas Health Clearfork operate as one hospital across two locations, serving Fort Worth and surrounding communities. The hospital is a 261-bed, full-service facility with specialties in surgical services, orthopedics, imaging, and adult critical care. It features a 24-hour emergency department and holds certifications as a Primary Heart Attack Center, Primary Stroke Center, Level III Trauma Center, Level III Maternal Center, and Level III Neonatal Center. The facility is also nationally accredited for Breast care and Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement. Requirements

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency
PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program.
EMT - Emergency Medical Technician
Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B)
Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program
1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification.
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days
Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
Nursing Students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.
