About The Position

Texas Health Southwest is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for PRN Nights on the Med Surg unit. This role involves providing direct patient care and assistance based on the established plan of care and patient/family preferences. The PCT will be responsible for collecting and reporting patient data, supporting admission, transfer, and discharge processes, and performing technical procedures safely while documenting care accurately. Collaboration with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations and cultural needs is essential. The PCT will also maintain a clean and safe environment, proactively meet patient and visitor needs, demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, and effective communication across disciplines, and participate in process improvement initiatives while adhering to safety goals and advocating for patients. Texas Health Southwest, operating as one hospital across two locations with Texas Health Clearfork, serves the Fort Worth area and surrounding communities. The hospital is a 261-bed, full-service facility with specialties in surgical services, orthopedics, imaging, and adult critical care, including a 24-hour emergency department. Requirements

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required.
CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency Required.
PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program. Not required to maintain certification when applicable after hire. Upon Hire Required OR EMT - Emergency Medical Technician Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) Upon Hire Required OR Other Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program Upon Hire Required OR Other 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification. Upon Hire Required
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required.
Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
Nursing Students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.
