Gateway Rehab Center (GRC) has an exciting opportunity on our Nursing team for a Patient Care Technician at our Center Township, PA location. You will have the primary responsibility of monitoring patient medication self-administration and therapeutic treatments. As a Patient Care Technician, you will be an integral part of a compassionate healthcare team dedicated to providing high-quality and personalized care to individuals. This position receives frequent supervision and instruction.

Requirements

High School diploma and equivalent.
Medical Assistant/Nursing Assistant/CNA/Medication Technician or EMT experience.
Pass a PA Criminal Background Check.
Obtain a PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting clearances.
Pass Drug Screen.
2-Step TB Test.
CPR/First Aid training.
If living a life of recovery, you must attest to at least 18 months in recovery from substance use disorder.

Responsibilities

Completes medication self-administration training
Monitors patient medication self-administration and therapeutic treatments
Ensures medication documentation is accurate and complete
Ensures patients are adhering to policies and procedures and safe medication practices
Conducts patient education on safe medication practices
Conducts medication cart audits
Documents observations, patient care, and patient interactions
Coordinates and collaborates with all departments as necessary
Acts as a liaison between clinical staff, medical staff, and patients.
Assists with crises intervention.
Documents involvement with patients in progress notes.
Collects urine and completes paperwork for drug screening as necessary.
Attend mandatory GRC trainings.
Other duties as assigned.
