Patient Care Technician
About The Position
This role focuses on providing direct, one-on-one patient care for dialysis treatments, ensuring they are safe, comfortable, and hygienic. The position involves working in a complex but fulfilling service line where meeting and exceeding clinical outcomes is a primary goal. Multitasking is expected to meet the needs of the service, patients, and SNF partners. The role requires comprehensive patient care in an independent setting, demanding constant critical thinking and application of core skills to monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis. This includes measuring and recording stats, observing patients, and setting up hemodialysis machines. The role is part of DaVita's DSD Services, which aims to serve dialysis patients residing in SNFs, reducing burdens and costs associated with traditional dialysis transport. Teammates will leverage DaVita's resources to develop infrastructure and grow this new service line, working autonomously and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- MUST BE CCHT certified
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and Outlook

Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the complete ongoing care of each patient to ensure their dialysis treatment stays on track.
- Work in conjunction with dialysis RNs to provide dialysis care.
- Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment.
- Provide comprehensive patient care in an independent setting.
- Monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup.
