About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide direct patient care and support nursing staff in delivering high-quality healthcare services. In this role, you will assist patients with daily living activities, monitor and record vital signs, collect specimens, perform phlebotomy procedures, and help ensure patient comfort and safety in a fast-paced clinical environment. You will also document patient care in Electronic Health Records (EHR), respond promptly to patient needs, and collaborate with nurses and healthcare professionals to support continuity of care while maintaining all safety, HIPAA, and facility protocols.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program required.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (AHA preferred).
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and patient care procedures required.
  • Ability to safely assist with lifting, transferring, and repositioning patients.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 6 months to 2 years of experience in a hospital, clinical, or patient care setting preferred.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR) systems preferred.
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems and medical documentation preferred.
  • Experience performing phlebotomy, EKGs, or specimen collection preferred.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration).
  • Assist patients with personal hygiene, mobility, feeding, and transfers (bed to chair, etc.).
  • Perform phlebotomy (drawing blood) and collect specimens.
  • Provide emotional support and maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
  • Operate and maintain medical equipment (e.g., EKG, blood pressure cuffs, catheters).
  • Document care and observations in Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Respond to patient call lights and needs promptly.
  • Uphold all safety, health, and facility protocols.
