About The Position

This role focuses on providing direct patient care and support within a Med Surg department at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford. The Patient Care Technician will assist patients with personal care, mobility, and daily living activities, while also observing and reporting changes in patient condition to the nursing staff. Maintaining accurate records and ensuring a clean and functional patient environment are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Nurse Aide preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with essential personal care and activities of daily living (ADLs) to ensure comfort and dignity.
Aid with patient movement, positioning, and transfers as directed by the clinical team to enhance recovery and safety.
Observe and promptly report any changes in a patient’s physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing staff.
Maintain accurate clinical records of care activities.
Ensure patient rooms remain orderly and medical equipment is functional and ready for use.
