About The Position

Ascension Via Christi in Wichita is seeking a Patient Care Technician for their Radiation Oncology department. This is a full-time, day shift position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The role involves providing direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, assisting with patient movement and positioning, observing and reporting patient condition changes, documenting care, and maintaining a clean and organized patient environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in oncology or radiation therapy.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
High School Diploma or GED OR an active CNA Certification required.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in an oncology setting
A strong interest in pursuing a long-term career in Radiation Therapy.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on assistance with basic patient care under the guidance of licensed nursing staff
Support safe patient movement, transfers, and positioning
Observe and report changes in patients' physical, emotional, or mental condition to the nursing team promptly
Accurately document care activities and observations in patient records
Maintain clean, organized patient rooms and ensure medical equipment is properly cared for and ready for use
