Patient Care Technician - Ortho Neuro Trauma (ONTCC) (PCT)
About The Position
As a PCT on ONTCC, you’ll support nurses in caring for patients with traumatic injuries and post-surgical needs related to orthopedic, neurological, and trauma events. You’ll assist with hygiene, mobility, vital signs, documentation, and compassionate bedside care — including support for patients nearing the end of life. Your steady presence and attention to detail help ensure patients feel safe and supported during some of their most challenging moments. Working on ONTCC gives you experience with a wide range of trauma, neuro, and orthopedic conditions — an ideal setting to build strong clinical judgment and hands-on skills. You’ll learn to support patients recovering from complex injuries and surgeries, assist with mobility and neuro assessments, and recognize changes in patient status in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within six months of hire
- Completion of required PCT classes for the unit
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist with bathing, oral care, toileting, and linens
- Support safe mobility, repositioning, and transfers
- Monitor and record vital signs
- Document patient information accurately
- This role includes exposure to bodily fluids and sensitive patient situations
- Safely lift/move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
