About The Position

Kindred Hospital Chicago - Northlake is a 94-bed long-term acute care hospital offering the same in depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital, but for an extended recovery period. We partner with your physician and offer 24-hour clinical care seven days a week so you can start your journey to wellness. We are located in the city community offering a nice balance between residential and commercial area, close to Belmont Gardens. This role monitors heart rhythm patterns of patients to detect abnormal pattern variances, using telemetry equipment. The technician reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm patterns, current patterns, and prior variances. They observe the screen of the cardiac monitor and listen for alarms to identify abnormal variations in heart rhythm.

Requirements

Must read, write and speak fluent English.
Must have good and regular attendance.
Satisfactory score on EKG interpretation competency test.
Ability to accurately identify cardiac rhythms and understand their significance.
Current BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

EKG certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitors telemetry of patients by observing telemetry monitors for changes in cardiac rhythms.
Removes and cleans telemetry boxes when patient is discharged from telemetry.
Maintains accurate records of telemetry patients.
Immediately notifies RN or supervisor of rhythm changes.
Assigns transmitters and wires and sets up the monitor system for all telemetry ordered patients.
Troubleshoots transmitters and wires and sets up the monitor system for all telemetry ordered patients.
Stays abreast of federal, state, and local regulations for food safety and sanitation.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
