About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is part of a collaborative nursing team and supports Registered Nurses in providing hands-on patient care. The role assists with patients’ daily needs, helps monitor their conditions, and supports implementation of care plans while contributing to a safe and welcoming environment. Through attention, empathy, and teamwork, the PCT helps promote patients’ comfort, dignity, and recovery.

Requirements

• Obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
• Have a Missouri CNA credential or attend the five-week PCT Essentials training program, which combines classroom learning and preceptorship.
• No prior experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
