About The Position

The Patient Care Technician performs a variety of direct patient care procedures and assists with patient testing and treatment. The role supports physicians and professional staff by preparing equipment and supplies, and helps patients ambulate using assistive devices. The technician completes required documentation and communicates effectively to meet patient and family needs and regulatory requirements. The position maintains strict confidentiality of patient, employee, and department information, and uses time and resources effectively to promote quality and cost outcomes.

This is a full-time, 12-hour day-shift position in the 2SE Neuroscience department at Loyola Medicine, part of Trinity Health. Loyola Medicine is a nationally ranked academic, quaternary care system in Chicago’s western suburbs.

Requirements

• Valid IDPH CNA Certification.
• CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of direct patient care procedures.
• Assist with completion of patient testing and treatment procedures.
• Assist physicians and professional staff with equipment and supply setup.
• Assist patients with ambulation using assistive devices.
• Complete required documentation and communicate competently and effectively to meet patient and/or family needs and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, employee, and department information to ensure patient rights.
• Use time and resources effectively to promote quality and cost outcomes.
