About The Position

The Patient Care Technician works full time on the 6SW Medical Oncology unit during 12-hour day shifts. The role performs a variety of direct patient care procedures, assists with patient testing and treatment, and supports physicians and professional staff with equipment and supplies. The technician also helps patients ambulate using assistive devices, completes required documentation, communicates effectively with patients and families, protects confidential information, and uses time and resources effectively to support quality and cost outcomes.

Requirements

• Valid IDPH CNA Certification.
• CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of direct patient care procedures.
• Assist with completion of patient testing and treatment procedures.
• Assist physicians and professional staff with equipment supply and setup.
• Assist patients with ambulation using assistive devices.
• Complete required documentation and communicate competently and effectively to meet patient and family needs and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, employee, and department information to protect patient rights.
• Use time and resources effectively to promote quality and cost outcomes.
