About The Position
Patient Care Technician - Experience Required CCHT certification will be required This will support treatments being performed in the Acute (Hospital) setting in the Lafayette, LA area Schedule initially will be Monday, Wednesday, Friday (possible to change based on hospital census) Make a real difference in patients’ lives. DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide hands-on dialysis care in a hospital setting. No dialysis experience required—just a passion for helping others. Requirements
- Accredited High School diploma, general education development (“GED”) credential, or equivalent
- Comfort working with blood, needles, and medical equipment
- Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical stamina for long shifts (up to 12+ hours)
- Flexibility to float between facilities as needed
Nice To Haves
- CCHT certification
- Previous healthcare experience a plus (CNA, MA, Phlebotomy, CHT, BONENT certified)
Responsibilities
- Deliver one-on-one dialysis care to patients with kidney disease
- Monitor and record vital signs, set up dialysis machines, and observe treatment
- Support patients physically and emotionally throughout their care
- Educate patients on dialysis-related topics
- Collaborate with nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other care team members
